Who is responsible for this data
TODO(client) — the organisation behind the residency does not exist yet. To be completed with its legal form, registered address, and the email address to write to with any question about this page. Until then, the person to contact is the one listed on the Contact page.
What this site does not do
Saying this first avoids a long text about nothing:
- No cookies are set by this site.
- No analytics, no advertising trackers, no embedded social networks.
- No accounts, no passwords, no payments.
- No newsletter: the site does not collect email addresses.
- The site records nothing you type. The accommodation request form is assembled on your own phone and opens WhatsApp; nothing is sent to this site, and nothing is stored by it.
What is collected, and by whom
The host of the site
Pages are served by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any host, Cloudflare keeps technical logs: IP address, date and time, page requested, browser type. These logs exist to serve the pages and to protect the site from attacks. We do not read them and draw no statistics from them.
Cloudflare is based in the United States, so visiting this site involves a transfer outside Morocco and outside the European Union. https://www.cloudflare.com/privacypolicy/
The map
Pages that show a map load it from OpenStreetMap. When the map appears, OpenStreetMap receives your IP address. The map only loads at the bottom of the page, and only if you get there. https://wiki.osmfoundation.org/wiki/Privacy_Policy
The accommodation request, by WhatsApp
The request form only prepares a message: your dates, the size of your group and the nature of your project are assembled into text, in your browser, and then opened in WhatsApp. You are the one who sends it.
From then on it is an ordinary WhatsApp conversation between you and us: handled by WhatsApp Ireland Ltd. under its own rules, and read by us on our phone. https://www.whatsapp.com/legal/privacy-policy
If you would rather not use WhatsApp, the phone number and email address on the Contact page work just as well.
Why, and for how long
| What is processed | Why | For how long |
|---|---|---|
| Host logs | Serving pages, protection against attacks | Cloudflare’s own retention period, which we do not choose |
| Your message and number, inside WhatsApp | Answering you and arranging your stay | TODO(client) — period to be decided: for example, the conversation is deleted one year after the last exchange if the stay did not happen |
| An email you send us | Answering you | TODO(client) — same decision as above |
We pass your messages on to no one, and we do not use them to write to you about anything other than the answer you are waiting for.
Asking to see, correct or delete
Write to the address on the Contact page, mentioning the number or address you wrote from.
- See what we hold: it is the conversation itself, which we can read back to you.
- Correct something: tell us what.
- Delete: we remove the conversation from our phone. You can also delete it on your side at any time, from WhatsApp.
We answer within TODO(client) — period to be set; one month is the usual.
Further legal references
TODO(client) — depends on the organisation, which does not exist yet:
- in Morocco, law 09-08 and registration with the CNDP, if the processing requires it once the organisation is created;
- for European visitors, a mention of the GDPR and of the legal basis relied on;
- the authority a complaint may be filed with.
Do not copy these in before checking what actually applies: a page invoking a text that does not apply works against whoever displays it.
Changes
This page will be updated if the site starts collecting anything else. Last updated: TODO(client) — the date it goes live.
